What is NSPE – New Mexico?
The New Mexico Society of Professional Engineers (NMSPE) provides leadership for the advancement of engineering professionalism throughout New Mexico. We provide conferences, meetings, events, and activities throughout the year, including ethics classes and the professional engineering exam review courses. We are 300 members strong! Our members range from university students to retired professionals located throughout the state in several different chapters.

Nominations Are Open
Nominations for Outstanding Engineer of the Year, Outstanding Young Engineer and Project of the Year are now being accepted. The deadline for applications is Friday, February 9, 2024 at 4 pm.
Save the Date
The next event will be the EWeek Conference to be held on Friday, February 23, 2024. We have some exciting speakers and topics for you which we will be announcing this week. Please plan to join us in person at the Hotel Andaluz where we will have displays, giveaways and prizes.

The 2023 Issues Conference was held both in person and virtually on Friday, November 3, 2023 at UNM. The exciting lineup of speakers and topics included: Dr Kenneth Armijo, Sandia National Laboratories, “Next Generation Concentrating Solar Energy Renewable Research & Development for the 21st Century,” Les Rubin, CFO, Picuris Pueblo, “Picuris Pueblo’s Renewable & Sustainable Electric Grid,” Dr. Eirini Eleni Tsiropoulou, University of New Mexico, “Revolutionizing Public Safety: 6G Wireless Unleashes Precision Positioning & Navigation,” Randy Rankin, PE and Adam Dirth, PE, Sustainable Engineering, LLC, “Sustainable Energy Issues: Equity, Theoretical Limit & Imperative Transformation,” and Joe Barela, PE, CFM, JoeB Engineering, Inc. and NM Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers & Professional Surveyors (NMBLPEPS), “Ethics: an Engineering Investigator’s Perspective of New Mexico Cases.”
Local Chapter Events
Albuquerque Chapter
The Albuquerque Chapter hosts monthly luncheons (except for February, June and November) on the third Thursday of each month. These luncheons qualify for one hour of PDH credit and are a great opportunity to hear presentations on various topics of interest and socialize with your peers. They are held at M’tucci’s Bar Roma, 3222 Central Avenue NE, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Everyone is welcome.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our holiday sock drive to benefit needy boys and girls at Joy Junction. With your help, the Albuquerque Chapter donated a wagonful of socks and underwear and $350 to Joy Junction’s mission.
Please plan to join us for our next luncheons on 3/21/24, 4/18/24 and 5/16/24. Please note there will be no luncheon held in February due to the EWeek Conference.
The 2023 Golf Tournament was held on July 15, 2023 at Sandia Golf Resort. Teams competed for fun and prizes. Proceeds benefit MATHCOUNTS. Plan now to participate in next year’s tournament.
Santa Fe Chapter
The Santa Fe/Los Alamos Chapter meeting is scheduled will be scheduled soon. It will be held at the Old Pecos Trail Cafe located at 2239 Old Pecos Trail, Santa Fe, NM 87501. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m..

San Juan Chapter
The San Juan Chapter is re-forming after Covid. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at noon at the Geomat Inc. Office Building, 2100 Cortland Avenue, Farmington. Please contact Toni Sitta at nmspe.sanjuan@gmail.org for more information.
